An Excerpt from my book Treason. I believe we are on the brink of the pivotal Middle Eastern War

Chapter 26, “Daniel the Prophet, Fourth Vision, Part One” Daniel 10—12

The War that Restarts Rome

Now some final thoughts on the pivotal Middle Eastern war. To properly understand it, we look back to Nimrod’s occultic dream of world dominion that was put on hold at the tower of Babel. After Israel achieved her maturity, the dream was restarted under Nebuchadnezzar, the head of gold, and the first of four empires. Then, at the resurrection of Jesus, the aspirations of Imperial Rome, the fourth and final empire, were put on pause so that the Church could be born and mature.

Nimrods Babylon never went away; it was paused. Nebuchadnezzar’s world empire of treason never ended—it was simply paused at the resurrection. Now, with this war, I believe the kingdoms of this world are taken off of pause so that Rome can regain her power and military might. Once sufficiently energized, she will finish the aspirations of Nimrod by casting her dragnet over all the earths’ inhabitants so that men are controlled and killed at the whim of Antichrist and his collaborators who take their orders from Satan.

Antiochus and Antichrist

Before we move on, it is important to remember that in Daniel’s visions, we go back and forth between Antiochus and Antichrist, and sometimes it can get confusing because they have similar characteristics. I believe God has purposely blurred the lines so that we understand they are prophetically related. Antiochus is a prototype of evil rulers who terrorize God’s people. Also, he provides us with a historical template for Antichrist who will rise from the ancient lands of the Babylonian Empire, which became the Medo-Persian, and then the Greek, and finally the Roman Empire.

It is important to note that the national boundaries are also blurred because all these kingdoms folded into one another to become Imperial Rome. This leaves room for the final Babylonian government to be composed of assorted modern nations and for Antichrist to arise from any number of places.

Prophetic Scripture Crosses the Chasm of Time

Another very important aspect of this vision (and all of biblical prophecy) is that God masterfully weaves together the storyline of multiple generations and highlights certain events and people in order to give us a big picture understanding. This is a key feature of prophecy.

God easily crosses the chasm of time with His all-encompassing messages, forcing us to see the panorama of history. When He speaks, He is a wonder to behold. He lives in the now-moment and at every point in eternity. Therefore, He can span the ages and blend them together in His narrative like no one else.

Our most honest response to His Majesty, is to allow Him to carry us across the ages and breathe in the rarefied air of His omniscience.
